What have you learned about using new literacies by building your project, and how might you integrate some of these activities into your own classroom?
I think the main thing that I learned is how creative you can be as a teacher (and subsequently as a student) through assignments. The wiki and the corresponding assignments were truly "outside of the box" assignments comparative to most junior high/high school language arts assignments. I felt as though the way that they called for us to be creative and critical thinkers was much more effective for learning the "material" than other assignments. Thus, I think these new literacies have taught the future teacher in me to be more creative with assignments and projects for the sake of my students. I hope that it will be possible to integrate some of these assignments into my own classroom provided that we have acceess to the proper technology. If the technology was not available, I do still think it would be possible to include similar activities altered in certain ways. For example, a PSA could still be written, but would be much more effective if the video capability were available.
